VIDEO: Capone-N-Noreaga “The Reserves” f/ Raekwon

Was snoozing on this one. Nothing too crazy about the vid (directed by Janelle Abraham) but worth watching to see NORE rocking a Carharrt in one scene, then rocking a fur in the next cut. And of course, it helps that the song bangs (produced by The Bizness); Shallah Raekwon on the hook. From CNN’s The War Report 2: Report the War dropping July 13.

Someone get CNN a legit, non-MySpace site, please. Hope they come close to the raw quality of The War Report, a classic in many eyes. Wish they could go back and make a video for “Stick You.”

Bobbito Garcia on CNN and Pro-Keds

The video above is of a Latinos in America piece CNN did on Hip-Hop renaissance man Bobbito Garcia. Funny, since I remember first noticing him as DJ Stretch Armstrong’s partner on 89.9 (shout to the homie Sucio Smash still holding it down over there), I’ve never really noted DJ Cucumber Slice as “a Puerto Rican dude.” Just as “a Hip-Hop head,” tried and true. Not on some post-racial nonsense. Searching for that new Hip-Hop music fix made it an after thought.

Regardless, Kool Bob Love has long been one of my inspirations. Bobbito the Barber seems to always finagle a check for doing stuff he’d probably be doing for free anyway. Case in point, he recently collaborated with Pro-Keds to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Royal Flash model. Courtesy of KixandTheCity, video of Bob speaking on the kicks below. Damn him, and all his nicknames. LOL.

Dead Magazine Slideshow

tahiry-on-king

Talk about depressing. This Dead Magazine Slideshow (via Silicon Valley Insider) is not the for the faint of heart. Unless you are not a fan of mags. Call me a dinosaur but there’s something endearing about the experience of holding a magazine in your hands and reading through it. Even if something is online if it’s lengthy enough (like say CNN’s look at Bernie Madoff), I’d rather print it out and read it on the Iron Horse. Ah well, call me a fossil.
