I had my doubts when it was first announced that a live action Captain America flick was coming to theaters. But Captain America: The First Avenger is now clearly a must see. Featurette above talks about the lore of Cap’s shield, and it seems like these cats really “get” it.

The good folks over at Fuse TV’s “Hip Hop Shop” interviewed me about my book, The Wu-Tang Clan and RZA: A Trip Through Hip Hop’s 36 Chambers. Wouldn’t call it a “bio” since the book deals more with the Clan’s music as opposed to their come up, but biographical content was definitely included to add proper context to the sounds from Shaolin. Consider the book more like “the ultimate guide to the labyrinthine musical world of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan,” as the esteemed Brian Coleman described it.

Ghostface Killah on VH1’s Mob Wives. Yes, this really happened. Props to Ghost Deini for representing himself with class, sans any rapper on reality show coonery. Looks like he was getting styled by ‘mob wife’ Renee Graziano at the video shoot for Brit singer Josh Osho’s “Redemption Days.”

Big K.R.I.T. (King Remembered In Time) is one of my favorite “new” MCs out. The “new” is in quotes since he’s actually been at it for a good minute now, dropping all type of quality work. Yeezy finally let’s go of the official “Monster” video that was basically banned from TV, sort of. Before the video kicks off, the following disclaimer can be seen/read:

“The following content is no way to be interpreted as misogynistic or negative towards any groups of people. It is an art piece and it shall be taken as such.”

Misogyny is defined as “a hatred of women.” Judging from all the corpses of women in the clip, affection or adoration of females doesn’t exactly come to mind, making that disclaimer seem insincere. Just saying. But great art is supposed to spark discussion or debate. So mission accomplished, right? Maybe, buy Ye has created much better videos.

Playboy Magazine’s Top 23 Air Jordans of All Time

Playboy Magazine doesn’t exactly exude sneaker knowledge but Matt Halfhill of NiceKicks put together its Top 23 Air Jordans Ever list, so there. Chicks (called “Sole Mates”) and kicks, certainly an eye pleasing combination. You have to be a member to see the entire list, but surely images are floating around already. Preview/teaser vid, with a horrible voiceover and some suspect facts, is above.
