E! True Hollywood Story: Rapper Wives

Was watching the E! True Hollywood Story on Rapper Wives. Needless to say it wasn’t the best of looks for the rapping hubbies.
Mos Def’s ex-stripper wifey, Alana Wyatt, filed for divorce a few months after they got married in 2005, but he hasn’t signed the papers—so they’re still married. DMX is…pretty much in a bad spot (to put it nicely). And the late, great Big Pun, according to his widow Liza Rios and damning video, was unfortunately a wife beater. [sigh]
The only rappers that came out unscathed were Uncle Luke and neglected white rapper Paul Wall (he just dropped an album, ya know). Guess Jay-Z and Beyoncé weren’t available. Shout out to former spouses KRS-One and Ms. Melody too.
Can a rapper have a healthy marriage in the Hip-Hop game? Surely; if he or she wants to. But that applies to any marriage, rapper or not. Respect those vows.
I asked her to leave the chain at home.

it always boggles my mind when I see young celebs get married…ps: Pun is not remembered as much with the other greats largely b/c of his wife beating ways..

Well KRS1 is married and has been married to G-Simone for close to 15 years…. I think that is very cool.

MOS DEF and HIS WIFE were the cutest couple ive ever seen. If only her unfortunate upbringing having to turn to dancing for help didnt happen. I have had the Great pleasure of meeting MRS DEF and WOW she is remarkable. Day and NIGHT to what i thought and read. She loved Mos and He loved her. Just not everyone is meant to be. I have read her book and because of her book I have recently married. She talks about some REAL ISH and some stuff is so real it makes ya think how can a girl from the streets be so smart. She danced to get outta LIFE AND DEATH situation it amazes me how people still mok her and NOT know her story.

It’s really sad to see that although late rappers or any artist for that matter, brought in so much revenue for these labels, when they pass their families aren’t taken care of. There is no reason Pun’s wife should have lost her home or continue to struggle to make ends meet. I’m not saying money should continuously pour in, but his kids should at least have a decent roof over their heads (didn’t know he was a wife-beater).
